What’s the Deal with the Guitar Logo?

When I was 10, my parents took me Christmas shopping at the local Toys "R" Us. That year, I opened up a guitar, and it opened up a new world for me.

And I never really put it down. For me, the guitar embodies hard work, craft, community, and identity.

Little did that 10-year-old wanna-be rockstar know, the State House District he’d one day run to represent is the long-time home of Martin Guitar, officially known as C.F. Martin & Co.

Martin Guitar, the world’s leading guitar maker run by the same family for generations, sits at the intersection of industrial heritage, skilled trades, economic identity and cultural influence — they're much more than just a guitar company. They’re proof that Northampton County is a place where we can build something great, if we just work hard at it.

It’s time to make sure our leaders know what it means to work at something every day until you see results. The marks from guitar strings on my fingertips – and the guitar in my logo – are my way of saying, “I’ll show up for you every day as State Representative, no matter what.”
