My Dad
My dad taught me how.
When I was a kid, I decided to start a newspaper route. At first, I thought it would be easy.
It wasn’t.
But my dad had my back.
He made me a deal: we woke up together every morning, no matter what, to deliver 70 newspapers to my neighbors – as long as I saved half of what I earned for my future. It was a deal, and one that I needed his help to keep up, but one that paid off. He showed up for me when I needed it, and I learned how to show up for others, even when it’s hard.
That lesson has stayed with me ever since.
